Why bother
Why do I bother breaking myself down
Chasing the dark while the sun wears a crown
I let my health slip
I let it decay
Guess I’m my own storm blowing me away
Eyes wide at midnight
The clock is my thief
Counting the hours like fallen leaves
Why do I bother
Why don’t I fight
Trading my dreams for a sleepless night
Waking up tired
A shadow of me
Why do I bother
Why can’t I see
This body’s a temple
I treat it like dirt
Running on fumes till it starts to hurt
I build my own cage
I lock the door
Throw away the key
Then beg for more
A few hours
Just a few
I can feel them slipping through
Like sand in my hands
Like smoke in the air
I’m here but I’m barely there
Why do I bother
Why don’t I fight
Trading my dreams for a sleepless night
Waking up tired
A shadow of me
Why do I bother
Why can’t I see
