Why

Why would you want to be an artist? Why would you want to have to create places in your mind because you can't handle real life? Why would you want to create people in your head because nothing ever goes your way? Why would you want to have to write excitement, paint a picture of something intriguing, and draw beauty, because you've only ever experienced boredom and stress and paranoia? because putting yourself on paper feels better than putting yourself on earth? because you only feel real feelings inside an imaginary world? Why would you want to live in hell? Why would you want to live in a place that looks like it has party lights from the outside windows but really has an internal burning fire? Why would you want to live in that place, but isolated and far from civilization, where no one can even see the light? Why would you want to relate to no one? Why would you want to struggle to physically express abstract ideas no one understands in order to cope? Why would you want to be unable to behave like a normal person? Why would you want to live under a bridge begging for some sense of home? Why would you want to go nowhere in the life you're forced to live in? Why would you want to float in outer space, alone and unable to breathe, stuck between different worlds that pull you back and forth within their forces of gravity? Why wouldn't you want something more like street smarts? motivation? ambition? fearlessness? sanity? memory? sociability? traditional instinct? a clear voice? a sense of direction? your feet on earth? Why would you want to be an artist?
