Notes About The Poem

a glimpse of something how I see it

Who's Got the Beef With Who Here

Watching a crackdown is like witnessing the devil at work
breaking into a camper van bodied armoured police
destroying property with rifles and semi automatics dressed in riot gear
if this is how you end a peaceful protest based on basic human rights
Then seeing an old woman being trampled upon
and an old man kneed to the ground with brutal force
it looks to me like a communist takeover lawless beings
Corrupt dictators destroying the acts of freedom to stand up
martial law declares war on the innocent no longer brainwashed
this use of force clearly establishes a great division authority wise
It tries to crush opposition by penalising them hauling people away
the red army has risen crushing the righteous from opposing
Sure many can now see criminals in suits are the worst kind
its like the blind leading the blind into hell to begin with
peace has never been achieved by means of force and dungeons

Very strong, true words, Liam. So much brutality inflicted on the innocent by those seeking to maintain their power. Your final line is so right on - dungeons will not secure peace. Be well. Brian
