Whole
You, Shard of my broken understanding,
who are You?
You, Guide of my feet and tongue,
who are You?
Are you the cruelty of the old books?
Are you the chains of the new vanity?
Are you no more than cosmic residue looking at a mirror?
Are you judge or God? Are you the lover? Are you night?
Your voice drowns out my world. I listen to it. I heed it. I doubt it.
What frivolously profound words you utter!
What ridicule you deserve!
Still your laughter bellows like the sun. It haunts nothing but respect in me.
Although I cannot bring myself to know Your name, don't yield to me. Keep out of my reach. Make me claw at the stars and waters for lifetimes. Destroy me. Create me.
I will reach and touch the tongue that teases me so. I will kiss the lips of that laughter. I will drink of the tears of that loneliest god. I will ravish and be ravished. I will be One.
Wait not for I will find. Cry not, for I love.
