Who Will I Be Tomorrow

WHO I’LL BE TOMORROW

If what I am,
And what I do,
Makes me who I’ll be tomorrow,
If what I say,
And what I don’t,
Makes me who I’ll be tomorrow,
If what I think,
With heartfelt wisdom,
Makes me who I’ll be tomorrow,
If what I see,
And what I feel,
Makes me who I’ll be tomorrow,
If what I speak,
Be it right or wrong
Makes me who I’ll be tomorrow,
If I am ugly,
To those I love,
Makes me who I’ll be tomorrow,
If I could dare,
To hide a sin,
Makes me who I’ll be tomorrow,
If I only take,
And never give,
Makes me who I’ll be tomorrow,
I’ll have to stop and think,
Who do I want to be tomorrow!

This is very introspective and daring what most people don't realize the impact of their words, body language and emotions to others, spouses and children. You say it very well like a checklist of the most important things to filter in your heart before acting. I would like to share this on Facebook, of course with your credentials and link to this site. I know a lady who can flat out express what many don't see and she would love this poem. Thank you for your thoughts and heart put into words.

Be Scarlett O'Hara and think about all these things - tomorrow! You know Gone With The Wind, yes? The poem title enticed my click, the poem contents enticed my smile; it is as cute and precious as you are though its feel is solemn and deep, I'm sorry but, to me, your cuteness seeped! Love that it did. Love your poem, Jenny. Poetry hugs ... CayCay

If you act honestly and good with yourself, and if can you do the same with the others you'll probably be happy... If you are happy now , continue with this...please yourself with humanity, and do not worry about tomorrow now ! salute alkas

Tomorrow is too soon to not worry about it Alkas especially having a personnel consultancy - we have to arrange interviews for applicants to go to interviews on the morrow, and also have to follow them the next morning - what I do today will impact on the next day, just checking in with Me, myself and I, think we can all improve ourselves daily if we stop and take stock sometimes. A great comment - thank-you Alkas, Hugs, Jennifer.

How did I miss this one. It's one not to miss. So much to think about here: (Yesterday), today and tomorrow. Does who I am now determine who I'm going to be. Great contemplative piece, Jennifer! :) gw

Well said and meaningful, Jenny. From time to time we need to take a deep look within us and see what we could change or make better. Our actions can leave a strong mark on our tomorrow.~ Warm regards & Hugs // paul

Yes Paul we must do some soul searching sometimes. We have just received news that one of my husband friends since high school, has only 3 weeks to live - he has brain cancer. Elias is feeling so bad right now as it was always Ronnie that phoned him, he was the one who kept in touch, with my husband, we live in Johannesburg and his friend in Cape Town - things happen - very sadly and obviously, Elias couldn't influence this very sad event, but he wishes he had phoned Ronnie more often! Hugs, Jenny.

Sometime we all have to stop and take stock of ones self. We live in a world that requires us to keep up with things, or people or niceties, for if we don't, we may be side lined. So, mostly we join in the rat race, and forget who we really are! Thank you Vijay for your continued support, and a kind comment, Poetry hugs, Jennifer
