Who Is Your Neighbor

My neighbor, right next door, is an odd lady, she is very old, sweet but seems quite lonely. I am often invited for tea and stale cookies, who is this neighbor that tells me rambling stories. As I sit, sipping tea from a tiny cup and listen, unsure if her adventures are true or just fiction. There are times I admit, when I hear her door, that I run, leap and gallop to mine, I just soar. I close the door and pray there will be no knock, once when I looked, she had left me a wilted hollyhock. ______________________ September 1, 2015 Couplet For the contest, Who Is Your Neighbour, sponsor, Mystic Rose Second Place

Perfect. You were able to show us this contrast between young & old, and very lonesome, and from the one who tries to escape the company. The Word Snap Shots are vibrant. I adore the way it was ended with her leaving a gift of life, as wrinkled and sad as she. I love the drawing of the lines placed more away from the border as they are trying to escape the page. I also like the inside border forming a Right Triangle--both the neighbors roof and a symbol of the 90° we live next to each other.
