Who Am I

I'm just your happy go lucky and very care free, absolutely miserable SOB, who deals with his depression by trying to be funny, in a comical approach to writing poetry, as opposed to depressing the hell out of everybody who may happen unfortunately to surround me. I don't believe in that old adage, "Misery Loves Company." Just because I always feel like crap, doesn't give me the right to make they who surround me also feel like that. It's true, laughter is the best medicine, but not the very best that can be. Laughter is the better medicine for yours truly when laughter is experienced by others but caused by me. "Tears Of A Clown" is a song that portrays me very accurately, oh and "I Am A Rock" is a song that was written about me specifically. Who Am I? I'm just your happy go lucky and very care free, absolutely miserable SillyBilly, who loves absolutely, sincerely and unconditionally, the entire Poetry Soup community, who I consider to be, in all honesty, not only great members of this great site, but also all members of my family. Who Am I? ... oh crap, I got nothing.

I am a rock, I am an island? I love that song. I get this poem more than you can know. Me? I've been diagnosed with something called 'Survivor Syndrome' which is related to P.T.S.D. I love to laugh and more often than naught, I laugh at myself. I'm not always likable and I am hard to live with. I get people with layers and I understand coping. I also see that you 'get' people. xoxox

Really loved this insightful poem Billy. I see PS as part of my extended family - there may be petty squabbles but at the end of the day we support eachother. I try and bring a little humour and a smile with my poetry. I do know you are a very caring compassionate man who battles his depression by trying to make others smile:-) hugs jan xx

You are Billy theKidster, and that is a lot of something. Cry your tears, on our shoulders if you want to. We all saw how much people here care about you. Remember that, Billy. You don't have to be a rock. It's ok to feel pain...we all do. take care of yourself and never be afraid to ask for help.
