Who Am I

In a mirror I see a young girl or women.
She is pretty but with sadness reflects in her stare.
She is trying to cover her imperfections.
Its like if she thinks this will change how others view her.

She concludes she can hide in her face with what she feels inside.
She cares what others want and follows different paths.
Safe or dangerous the paths my be, she follows with a good heart.
Making others lead her it seems.

To many friends.
To many mistakes.
To many wrong choices.
She has lost herself in others and loneliness follows her.

She tried the wrong paths again.
The scars turned into wounds again.
No matter the pain she is sure about one thing,
Sad she may look but she is beautiful inside.

Clear and honest. "To many friends....turned into wounds again." I love these 6 lines. So wonderfully poignant.
