White Roses

White Roses unparalleled splendor and a glow of peace white roses were my choice a funeral with festive, colorful displays how out of place they seemed color blind, Dad couldn’t appreciate such arrangements though he was surrounded by heaven’s radiant hues white seemed more fitting as we said farewell gentle beauties, white roses, were my last gift to him
Dedicated to my father who died January 6, 2009. Written January 5, 2014

A sad poem but lovely description of the white roses. Roses are lovely and are my favourite flower. Brilliant poem. Best wishes Linda

January 5th was my daddy's birthday. He died at 79 years in March of 1953. He was a great daddy too. I always try to take some red flowers to him at the cemetery. He loved red on me when I was a child. I am glad I found this. Love, Joyce

I like that you spoke of the perceived contrast of the white roses beauty to the heaven's radiant hue. Beautifully written and a lovely dedication. Congrats on your win in Francine's contest.

Heavenly eyes are not color blind nor are noses scentless. There feelings come alive with things only angels can see. And the trail of love leads directly to thee.
