Whispers On the Wind
They whisper questions
On the wind
Amongst themselves
Wondering why
Why I was there
I question myself
As to why
They are here
In the middle
Of nowhere
They continue
To question
Their leader
Guide
The eldest
But she is at a loss
As am I
I sleep a
Restless night
As road trains
Rumble by
Wake to a clear
Blue sky
Then I see
The plaque
Remembrance
Pioneers
To those
That have passed
The infants
The youth
The young
That whisper
On the wind
But why
Why are they still here
Whispering on the wind
