Whispers of the Midnight Forest

beneath the stars where silver rivers flow
a lone wolf howls to greet the moonlit sky
his shadow dances on the hills below
as midnight winds let out a ghostly sigh
the forest hums with secrets none may know
its whispers rise then fade without reply
the world feels vast yet strangely small tonight
as time stands still beneath the pale starlight
