Whispering Wings
They reap the whirlwind
Who search the gold-glinted sun
And moon on whispering wings;
Who float and glide
Upon the blue and misty current
High above the naked edge
Of earth,
Like eagles they climb
The whipped peaks of weightless freeze
And loft through miles and miles of silent breeze
They blast sea and sky
Wide open spaces in patterned swirls
Against the saber’s point,
Their whispering wings rippling
Rushing space, nosing ahead
Of tell-tale streaks
Melting out of focus.
