Whispered Words of Truth

You ignore whispered words of truth,
blindly stumbling within life's maze.
And shedding innocence of youth,
embers erupt into a blaze.
Pulled in different directions,
you find it difficult to cope.
And as you sever connections,
faith slides down a slippery slope.
You feel imprisoned by your pain,
suffering life's tribulations.
And yet, you'd do it all again,
without any trepidations.
Love has no predictable norms,
a trickle morphs into a stream.
And despite emotional storms,
hope inspires timid souls to dream.
