Whisper

Gold wheat gathered red wine bottled rocking by crackling fire Heart starts a song at a name it recalls snow tears on city lights falling Through cracks in the door a whisper once loved beat of a heart now drumming Restless and torn by the rosebud crumb once in love meadow now in a mall Moonlight curtained by strobe lights frenzy gadgets to distance romancing Four seasons dimmed by two dark emotions summer red anger ice cap silence Easter bells ringing joy of forgiving Grace melting ice to tearing Breaking new day four seasons rainbow meadows in flower roses buds in love Ninth Place Winner: Brian Strand-You Choose-2/26/24 First Place Winner: Brian Strand Contest-7/8/21

Very well written Frances. This poem feels a bit lonely to me but winter does that to me. You have expressed this well.
