Whirlwind
Has anybody
searched
or thought about
the secret place
in the heart
where a breeze
or a whirlwind
starts?
How did Cain
come to blood
and brother Abel
remain mild?
Did they differ
from the start
or their actions
set them apart?
A reed shaken
by the wind
and a captain
steadfast
in his will
differ by
a choice made
to persist
till harbor is reached
or be swept
by the whirlwind
of sin.
