Whirling Leaves
the north wind is strong this Autumn day
and leaves from trees are fluttering down
twirling in a whirling dance . . .
like weeping tears of red, orange and gold
they lay decaying on the still green grass below
and then, spin away in a wild breeze to distant places
and the bare branches groan and moan their sadness
