While You Slept My Love
I watched you sleep with a smile on my lip
And wondered about the dreams in your sleep
A smile so warm curled your lip,
And I wondered about the songs of your heart,
So I leaned in and listened to it beat,
So strong as if to a magic drum set,
To the songs of your heart,
I listened while you slept,
Baby I watched you sleep with a smile on my lip.
I snuggled close and you pulled me close,
Even when you slept my name was on your lips,
And I wondered if your dreams were like mine,
Filled with your laughter, joy and sun,
With your warm breath caressing my skin,
And your arm so strong and steady,
I put my heart with yours and baby,
While you slept I watched you with a smile on my lip.
