While December Adorns Winter Wonderland
A nippy and eye-burning wind sweeps across
the thick and silent forest of tall firs and pines;
their long branches are weighted down by bright snow...
although it's a lovely scene, the cold sun still hangs low!
While December adorns winter wonderland, the dreamer's eyes
are set aglow...they follow the long paths of imagination,
leading them to snowy trees that used to lull wild flowers;
in this woodland, peace is felt more deeply through observation!
Back in spring the dense forest was echoing with warbling sounds,
the small hummingbirds made music with the pretty bluebirds;
the thought of winter was too remote, but frightened them all:
they suddenly left without seeing the fluffy snowflakes gently fall!
While December adorns winter wonderland, many travelers will frown;
who will build the snowman under the frozen trees? Jangles the clown?
It could be anybody who's enthusiastic and loves wintry weather;
and with plenty of snow to build many snowmen, isn't sharing fair?
