Which Fruits In My Basket

When asked what in my basket I would take of any kind of fruit; well, here’s the truth. I much prefer my fruit in pie or cake, or chocolate covered for my sweety tooth. No apples, peaches, pears or plums for me. I find bananas boring. Am I sick? Of all the fruits that grow upon a tree, there hardly is a one I'd want to pick. A mango slithers like an eel; I gag! And though papaya can be rather sweet, exotic fruits of which the natives brag are just “ok.” I’ll stay with my red meat. Just melon, grapes or cherries in my basket and can you make them seedless if I ask it? By Andrea Dietrich For PD's November Poetry Contest

now Ms Dietrich, I have to give a reposse, to your poem on behalf of fruit lovers, thus; Of fruits we will disagree I love then for breakfast, even for tea. I love my apples, peaches and pear Watermelons, coconuts, and guavas No fear! I eat a cherry, then a plum And suck on star apples until the milk is done. (diversity in us all)

An excellent poem to win in the Contest. In my basket you will rarely find red meat. Doctors order. All sorts of fruits both exotic and non exotic are what I live on. Yet you and I share the same taste in poetry. Thanks for your charming comments on my poem My Poetry. I am blushing. Love. -Mohammad

Yes I only like a few fruits too and do not go for the exotic ones. A question to ask you-where do you find the featured poets of the month or do they not do that anymore? love phyl

Oh yeah!...And make my meat bloody rare while you're at it...so a sonnet can be funny too, huh?...Got the books but have been down sick and still trying to work...no chance for a proper read yet but looking forward - Tim

Offered fruit or chocolate, I will take chocolate every time. Is this not a fruity rhyme? Good show. Love, daver

Tomato, tomato, neither will you take. For I've never heard of either one ever being in a cake. And as for chocolate covered, now that's a big mistake. I guess you only really want a great big juicy steak. :) Got some A-1. :)
