Notes About The Poem

Bird

where wind is joy

Wind is a playful child;
        happy when teasing leaves,
or a temper tantrum,
     throwing itself in shrieking madness.

My breathe is caught in chaos
     when I crave calmness,
my heart is like a frantic bird
      trying to escape its cage.

I crave the stillness
     of a storm after it passes,
I crave the stillness
     in a place where wildness sleeps.

I am a silver ribbon, a river,
      flowing, reflecting, eternal ~
I search for a quiet place
     where wind is joy.
