Where the Wind Blows

When Mother Earth speaks to Father Sky
She gently lets out a whisper sigh

A gentle breeze to send her kisses
Across the blue, she sends her wishes

Father Sky, please send gentle rain
To feed our children once again

She blows a kiss in perfect time
To free the sun again to shine

Then blows her petals across open meadows
Before moon overtakes sun's evening shadows

Now she sleeps, where none will know
Exactly where her wind doth blow....

Tomorrow she'll rise to speak to Father Sky
Of secrets shared upon winds lullaby

Thanks for the bit of education in the end... I find native American myths and legends fascinating... did you know dogs with multi-colored eyes were called Spirit Dogs, and we're believed to protect you from bad spirits? Concerning the poem I really enjoyed it. Especially the ominous quality of the Mother Earth sleeping where none will know...

Hello Timothy....I don't know all the accepted theories of this myth, but thought it a nice subject for a poem...and I've seen this breed of dog...I forget the name...they are a type of heeler I think and very smart!...and yes protective....my uncle when alive usually kept one of these....

The wind blows and the sky snows. The 1st of May, MY GOD, who knows. The trees do bend. Power lines snap. The morning after looks just like .... . But when the sun warms up the earth. What's still standing shows amazing rebirth.
