where orchids dream

   I am nothing but dust and ashes."

                                                                   Genesis 

I go  where orchids dream 
     down forest paths
to meadows blooming in the sun
              and colored orchids  swaying
         this is where I find my peace
from the dreams that haunt my nights
                          dreams of you . . .

this is the secret of my soul
              what I keep hidden away
           it is mine to treasure
                        to hold forevermore
        I promise to never let go my love . . .  

I am trapped in your pulse
      I listened to your heartbeat
                  until there was none
                           stone cold
                  was my last memory
          time stopped tick tick tick tick
                      to never be the same . . .

 I am the asylum of your ache
                you were my safe haven
           my sanctuary from the world
     my shelter and harbor, anchor and rock
                 now, I am a butterfly floating
        floating, drifting like a cloud  untethered

my  verses are the ashes
        of you . . . and all I have left to hold
              oh, my grief is sacred
          and like ashes I let my bleeding words scatter
               in the wind, floating, drifting ~
oh, one fine day my love
                 our ashes will mingle . . .
