Where Is My Pride?

You fall through the cracks, It is dark down here. Sounds behind your back, They are not clear. Should you run , Should you hide? This is not fun, Where is my pride? Chills up your back, They are getting closer. Are they going to attack? I wish I were braver. Slowly you walk, Down the darkened hall, You cannot talk, Cannot see the wall. You’re all choked up inside. Feelings regress, Where is my pride? Too much stress. Why is this happening to me, In this stage of life? You wanted to be free, I wanted to make you my wife. If you walk long enough, There’s light inthe tunnel. But why is it so rough? My heart, heavy as an anvil. I want to run back to you, Love you forever, If only I knew, What is the answer? Should I just hide, My feelings inside, Or let them come out forever? Where is my pride?
