Where Does a Poem Live

A poem lives and it breathes in the now, in the present But its home spans the past and the future, omnipresent ~ with a special Thank-you! to Swetha Vangaveti for the last word of the poem :)

Swetha, I think that your outstanding choice of the word 'omnipresent' works so well---that I'm simply going to 'co-opt- it right into the poem, if you don't mind... Check it out again, and you'll see the change! THANK YOU! Best wishes, Gershon

Note Chaim Bialik learned at Voloshin, and he became the 'Poet of Israel' but went off the 'Derek', I think b/c of Ego which Rav Nachman says 'Overcoming the Ego is the reason man was created', a challenge for all creative people, but Bezalel successfully dealt w creativity and the Mishkan wouldn't have otherwise been built. I also read your other poems, especially on creativity and you deal w Ego well. Chaim

Chaim, this comment makes my day, my week, my month, my year, maybe my life. I am humbled by your assessment... And thanks for the education on Bialik. I hadn't realized that he was at Volozhin. Always wondered how a fellow like him knew so much Torah. Thank you again, and best wishes. ~ Gershon

Enjoyed reading your work. I wonder if some poems will be resurrected after they have laid unread for years? Sara

Wow! Amazing concept, Sara: 'Poetic Resurrection.' … Emily Dickinson's poems were, of course, discovered after he passing and most were not published for decades. Thank you for your observation, and Best Wishes! ~ Gershon

Thank you, Panagiota, (and thanks for ignoring the fractured rhyme scheme!) :) gw
