Where Are We Going

Word battles rage in war and peace tweet and twitter with no retreat, people in protest taking the heat; there is a lack of unity spawned some face eagerly right on wrong, others turn to the left less noticed yet neither seem well focused for the country's best ignition intentions waver left-right partitions, does asking questions become sedition? Diversity exudes untethered but what could finally bring us all together? A bully speaking without consequence, intent clarified with little eloquence? Allies ignored, enemies adored power and greed a commodity while the poor and middle-class policy bow to established bureaucracy and words spew ignorant of history hold us stilled in mystery. Where are we going which direction is democracy flowing? Has the swamp drained, if so, then why so much pain what have we gained? Whose words are shouted defiant and louder does a slogan make us any prouder? Conservative, liberal, progressive, evangelical, primeval do we the people really know where are we going? I should stay away from politics for fear of offending someone but our current predicament confuses me. So tired of hearing by partisan, it never comes to fruition. Once again, I am neither right nor left, the one wavering and staggering in between. Morality must still live, even if it appears selfish and ego-centered. Some things, some words are right or wrong, no in-between. A saying vibrates in my head and seems the most appropriate for our current state of affairs - Dazzle them with brilliance or baffle them with bull....
