Where Are the Guardians of Quality

Where are guardians of Quality?
Are they still able to quantify?
Or do we need to re specify,
What is obvious to a fly.

Quality of life is now hard to come by,
Quality goods are mostly stored in attics,
Quality work is seldom done with quality tools,
Quality food if not cheap is left to rot.

Is equality for all really obtainable?
When only the lucky few sit at the top table,
Even when proved unstable,
Their shelf life, unbelievable.

Where are the guardians of quality?
Do they ever feel guilty?
Of their refusal to wear glasses that could rectify,
Their inability to quantify.

Has false economy,
Taken pride of place in our memory?
For all eternity.
The answer to that I have yet to quantify.

I feel like a dope,
For not giving up hope,
In finding a quality telescope,
Instead of a kaleidoscope.
