When You Told Me You Loved Me

when you told me you loved me
it came across as a shock
love you I can't
love you I will not
when you told me you loved me
I believed every word
but the words you spoke have already been heard
when you told me you loved me
inside I smiled
but the number to your heart I refuse to dial
when you told me you loved me
I didn't know what to do
because the day you told me you loved me I knew I was going to hurt you
