When You Return

You left me
And in your absence lives
The memory of canyon echoes
Jasmines after a spring rain
Grass stains on blue jeans
And the color of a sunset sky
Reflected off chrome

When you return
It will be with the fanfare
Of a hundred screaming seagulls
Steaming hot chocolate
Bluer skies, bluer jeans
And the scent of jasmines
That reminds both of us of home.
