When We Were 2010
We were the ones that fort the war,
Tended the land, slaughtered the boar.
We were the ones sowing price to land,
Gave up our souls to work by our hands.
We were the ones that held death to ransom,
Gave rights to the brave and birth to the handsome.
We were the ones that evolved from slaves,
For you to waiver all that we gave.
We were the ones that bartered and begged,
To bleed from the heart and feed from the keg.
You are the weak, the new and the young,
Burning the papers before learning the songs.
Taking fancy to greed and all you wanted,
Living by dreams that leave you all haunted.
We gave you youth, by becoming old,
You gave us regret, with all that you sold.
Building homes on land not yet owned,
Walking in lines, like bees in your drones.
Throwing to the wind everything we fort for,
For Tv and bubble gum and your hollywood whores.
