When We Pray
Jesus taught us to pray, "Deliver us from evil". We are often confronted
With a choice of evils in which we do not have the luxury of ignoring but
Rather a challenge to engage both the secular and Christian culture. In
This modern and convoluted day, how should we then pray? Many times,
The choices are cleverly intertwined into the political mix and subtly situated
Into the pot with the frog who never recognizes his day of doom. How shall
We then pray? Obviously, the Christ way is the only way. This is the delema, but is it really? This is the opportunity, but do we dare take it? It becomes a delema when we refuse to engage. To not engage is a lost opportunity.
To disengage is a sure recipe for disaster and total control of the social order.
But the people of the Book have been called upon to resist the devil with the
Divine promise that he will flee. Without the Master's grace and touch, I am frustrated, twristed, and confused. But with his enabling and authority, I am
Driven full speed ahead. If we are discerning, we will see the silver lining and find God with his unique purpose and plan.
