When the Storms Come
The storm came suddenly out of no where
We did not hear the tornado warning blare
Black skies wind roaring torrential rain
When it was over nothing will ever be the same
All we knew and loved a thing of the past
Some of us sensed it coming, but not that fast
Life took a sharp turn that was not right
I am sad and angry God, am I cut off from your light
Why did this happen sending clouds so black
Was it my fault, her fault, his fault something we lack
We loved you served you, God why oh why
Some of us so angry, can't even cry
Answer me quickly Lord, my spirit fails
Don't hide your face, ignore our wails
Rescue us take the anger sorrow from our heart
We trust you, what do we do to even start
The Lord heard our anguish and felt our pain
For those of us who waited patiently calling Jesus name
The Lord was our lamp, turned the dark clouds into light
No it did not happen quickly overnight
He set our feet on a rock, freed us from the miry pit of pain
Loved us, removed the anguish and anger, even if we were to blame
Jesus warns us in this world we will have trouble and sorrows
Take heart rejoice, Jesus overcame death
Leaving us peace hope through all our tomorrows
Cast your need of love, care, anxiety, worries
To God's mighty hand
He will answer it at the right time lift you from the miry pit
On a rock you will stand
Fear not the storm that comes suddenly out of the blue
God will come to heal your pain, your anger
He has wonderful plans for you
