When the Rains Descend
Who will be there for me when the rains descend?
dancing joyfully as it sings in the air
Softly it falls moistening my skin
cooling drought ridden and arid lands
cooling my heated brow
Who will be there for me when the rains descend?
swiftly, without notice the winds increase
driving needles into tender flesh
chilling me through and through
chilling my exposed being
Who will be there for me when the rains descend?
hail and harsh winds batter and abuse
dancing no longer entices
beaten I cry in loneliness lost
beaten I wonder who?
