When the Muse Has Gone

For so, so long,
     when the Muse has gone,
My written songs,
no longer greet the morning dawn.

I wonder why!?
     But I soon will rise,
like some dragon fly,
into the ointment of orange skies

with Hell's wingtips:
     and force my shadow,
like an eclipse,
     onto the pale-blue earth below!

Dear Kim, In your opinion, is the following slight change in the line a noticeable improvement (to you): "into the ointment of orange skies"? ~Ngoc
