When the Moon Rose Full

By the light of a rising moon Did I once fall in love. I believe it was the month of June When the moon rose full above. And I recall the summertime, The waft of jasmine sweet— As we drank of wine, and vintage rhyme, The cool grass at our feet. Even now I dread the sunrise; That early break of day— The hint of light I still despise That swept the moon away!

Dreading the sunrise because the moon leaves; this is so true some days! Lovely.

Hi Caren! I didn’t have to call upon empathy for this one. No, as I recall, the sun rather rudely intruded, ending what had been an enchanting night. And for it, the sun has yet to make amends!
