Notes About The Poem

When the Lights Go Out

When there is no power and you are sitting alone in the dark,
It’s not a hoot and a holler, or even a lark.
But I look on the bright side that I am not next door,
At the local funeral home to snore no more.

True Story. When we separated during our divorce, I moved into an apartment next door to the local funeral home.
