When the Lightbulb Moment Came

Sadly she sat all alone in her chair. Once Family had left, there was no one else there. The tear from her eye was still wet on her cheek. She wiped it away. Her future seemed bleak. A thought came to her of what she might do. An interest it was that she could pursue. Before that one thought she would fully embrace, a wonderful smile had lit up her face! Deep if reflect, her face lit up before the thought crystallised, meaning heart is the centre and thought as an instrument follows. When we introduce ourselves saying ‘I am …’ our hand instinctively goes to the heart. Warmest congratulations on your win, Andrea

She is just a character out of nowhere but I rather liked Harry's idea that poetry writing is what occurred to her as a way to occupy her solitary time. Actually, I meant her to represent an older woman , kind of like my mother, who feels sad when her daughters visit for the holidays and then leave her to herself again

A methaphor on the age we are living. Somehow it a reminder to never leave anyone behind, not withstanding the resilience of people.

Andrea, you have no idea how much I like this. From the first to the final lyric, the entire thing exudes tenderness and is crafted with such skill. A powerful moment that I felt today

Well, I wonder what she did? Did she make plates from the leftover food and take it to the homeless? Did she write this poem? Reads like a good contender for the contest to me. Way to go. Thanks for sharing and for dropping by my page. Sara

Harry has a good answer in my comments here. I think it's true of many poets here in fact!

Milton, Unseeking Seeker said to talk about the gap between the initial thought and the product of it, so the gap is all you get to see. Do you think I even know the answer to your question? hahaha

A nice, positive moment, poetically expressed. I've been, still am, in a rehab center for an infection. Before that, I was absorbed with Quora, questions and answers. I'm so ready to write poetry again. Sorry to be a stranger. Luv, Bryan.
