When the church said pray it away
When the church said pray it away
When the church said pray it away
To the elderly woman
Who lost her whole family
Not from just a gun
But from the system holding one
She had prayed
And prayed
And prayed
For her family's safety
And do you know what God did
He committed the ultimate sin
He killed them
But
It was all part of his plan
And
Everything happens for a reason
But
Don't question him
Because just like her family you'll end up in a coffin
But then again the priest says
It's his decision
They died of racism
The victims forgotten
But not by the elderly woman
By the system And a god that favours
The oppressors
But yes she should pray
And maybe one day
After a lifetime of loss and suffering
She'll get to spend eternity
With a being that was 'all loving'
But of course god is good
Especially with his miracles
Of helping you solve the problem
Of where you key was
But allowing racism
Of his black children
Even though he claimed we're all equal
Wow what a sweetheart
When the church said pray it away
To the gay black boy
Who thought they were 'all gods children'
And we're made in his 'perfect image'
But I guess not when it conflicts with the ideals of your religion
So not everyone is equal?
But doesn't god love everyone
So why would he allow this treatment
Of one of his children
But then again god always has a reason
Especially when he sends the boy to the devil
Even though he 'created' him and makes no mistakes but then calls him sinful
Do we not see the problem?
When the church said pray it away
To the black girl with depression
They said if you want to go to heaven
Then you need to be stronger than the devil
And stop being so evil
Because if you were really good
You would shut up
About your problems
Especially if its about racism
Because you know the white priest says it doesn't exist anymore
Although this is a flaw
Especially as 'god' started it all
And the fact he is 'all powerful'
But he couldn't stop the black struggle
So is he really all that wonderful?
