When Summer Is Gone Contest sponsored by Jcb Brul. 19 Jul 24 I count this verse as a 19- line offering with accidental tech indentation from my cellphone.
-------- Another streak of blazed discovery tumbles upon this month's vanishing ember, that I gaze at an abandoned coastline washing off this season's tanned mist with August dimming its flame: An assemblage of blossoms poses to reveal its paling watercolor tips bending like petioles of goodbye, air- smoked by evening 's approach: I feel the minutes pass in quick response... where a different flavor breathes to change the raw tempo pervading through this season's reign, lusty and free-- Another cycle heralds a call, and yet it cannot be the end of summer... my heated fields are still aflame, this mouth hungering for passion kisses on nights of fire-- The thrill of a sizzling landscape remains unfinished when rosy summer lingers on my mind...still.

Oh yes. I love when it lingers .love the lusty and free line, Nette. I am so glad to be a "late summer" baby. And I adore the passionate Indian summers. This should do quite well in the contest I think.

Youv gone for a very passionate and heartfelt theme for this prompt, giving a very sensual vibe too. I love “The thrill of a sizzling landscape remains unfinished when rosy summer lingers on my mind...still.” Ah what an ending! Somethings just remain unfinished when mind refuses to let go… felt this one so strongly! Best wishes

You have always come across to me Nette, as a well seasoned poet, who can write just about anything, even the dictionary and make it sound poetically pleasing to the eye and the heart. How do you do it ? Gl, its a winner by far, !
