When Summer Came To Winter

December came; a little snow was on the ground a while, but then it never fell again! It was so strange, for on my lawn was Santa Claus, not looking very well there with his lit up reindeer and the sleigh. But rain came down. It wasn’t even cold! It washed all trace of any snow away. The sun peeked down and spilled its honey gold onto the fields and city streets below. My decorations looked so out of place. Without the snow, they lacked that special glow! Yet there was not a frown upon my face. It felt like California – and so warm I didn’t mind it lacked a Christmas charm! Written Aug. 27, 2017 True story! I think it was in the late 1990’s this occurred. For Brenda Chiri's A Funny Sonnet How Your Winter Turned Into Summer Contest

Nice take on a contest prompt (one that left me baffled because I had no idea what it might mean).

When we long for a White Christmas it is sad to not get any snow. But then that's Florida and California as well. I never experienced a White Christmas until we came to Canada and I love it. However after Christmas I want to see some green again and anxiously await the Spring. Great job here Andrea. God Bless and good luck in the contest. A winner for sure. JB
