When Stars Appear

Following acts of terror
rapt within their spell
volunteers move in concert
kindness starts to swell.
     Amidst deeds so heartless
     passersby watch stars appear
     while cursing the darkness.

Citizens forget themselves
show community
assist as first responders
deal with tragedy.
     Amidst deeds so heartless
     passersby watch stars appear
     while cursing the darkness.

Sensing splendor on the wing,
hands and feet reveal
wise steps worth remembering
eyes and ears of steel.
     Amidst deeds so heartless
     passersby watch stars appear
     while cursing the darkness.

Glad you found it so...it is a trait of some people who unwrap themselves from their own turmoil and trash and become a gift of hope and help for those in need.

A heart-wrenching scene materializes and care mingles thereafter, albeit, ugliness festers. Thank you, Reason, for your participation and your honorable placement my friend, Aloha!
