When Love's No More
WHEN LOVE'S NO MORE
Come list my dear, you've caused my heart more pain,
but now you ask for me to hold my tongue
to just forget you've hurt me deep again,
as if love stays the same as when it's young.
Don't you recall our vows, to always be
as long as we shall live part of my own,
through sickness and in health, in love with me,
the greatest love you said, you'd ever known?
Too soon your heart grew weary, I suppose,
of how I am, though difficult, it's true,
but all the times you've hurt me, heaven knows
have only made me less in love with you.
So ask not that I love you, as before--
love cannot be returned--when love's no more.
