What happens
When love is not enough?
And evil worms its way
Into a wounded heart?
What happens
When one man's wicked words
Erode the bond
You've worked for years forge?
What happens when
Your heart is too tired
From squeezing the last of your love
Into a broken cup?
What happens when
Your hands are raw and bruised
From clinging too tightly
To the hope
That things will change?
What happens when
You are powerless
As a child is slowly poisoned
With hatred
Disguised as love?
