Notes About The Poem

Psalm 90:10 talks about our longevity on planet earth.

When It’s Our Time

A short eighty years is long.
No bells singsong tears, darling.
The stern coaster loops, be strong.
We’ll join murmur of starlings.

No bells singsong tears, darling.
When it’s our time, no complaints.
We’ll join murmur of starlings.
Heaven’s waiting with the saints.

When it’s our time, no complaints.
The stern coaster loops, be strong.
Heaven’s waiting with the saints.
A short eighty years is long.

Wow! Beautiful and uplifting poem constructed in an excellent pantoum! Love this a lot. Pantoum is one of the most beautiful forms but hard to write for me but you did it easily well! Thanks a lot for sharing my dear poet friend. Hope we all live longer. Life longetivity is also hereditary. God bless you always. Hugs.

I really like this one, i sense an anticipation of the unknown, with a strong hint of bravery and nostalgic sadness. Of course I could have it wrong, a beautiful poem though nevertheless. Thanks for sharing!

I’m sure much of that is true. My Dad just turned 88. Working on a Bible study called “Heaven.” Time goes by so fast and has its ups and downs. Thank you!
