Notes About The Poem

When He calls you to do something, you are totally
unprepared for it because it surprises you so!  I am
glad that I did what He wanted me to do, I wouldn't
change a bit!

When I Took Jesus Hand and Followed Him

When I took Jesus’ Hand and Followed Him

When I took Jesus’ hand and decided I would follow Him
I turned to see if my close friends were coming to,
but oh, no, I was all alone with Jesus as He
had decided this was something that He and I needed to do.

It was just Him that I had fellowship with
but in a strange and vastly different state,
far away from family and friends and everything I had known
but I got to know Him, His Father, and the Spirit of God and that was absolutely great!

I had no idea how things would work out
I just went as He directed and as He had told me to do,
I know the biggest thing was that I was totally His
and depended upon Him for everything in a land for me that was all so new.

I am still walking with my Savior
And now, forty five years later but I have to admit a bit slower,
but, I wouldn’t have had it any different than it is
because I love Him more, yes more and more!

God bless,
Marilyn S. Jennings

What a brill God-honoring piece Marilyn, so uplifting and inspiring to my soul. I've been walking the Jesus roads for nearly 40 years also and he gets sweeter every day. God bless, Gordon
