When I
When I open my eyes in the morning
and feel the sun caress my being,
will you be there by my side
and listen to my heart tell you
how much I love you?
Will you be there by my side
to witness the tears falling
from my eyes
which are droplets of pride
because I have you.
When I get out of bed and stretch
and let my feet touch the floor,
will you be there by my side
to greet me with that smile that sends
chills down my spine?
Will you be there by my side
and allow your lips to form those
three words I long to hear,
I LOVE YOU?
When I open the window and exhale
while inhaling the start of a new day,
will you be there by my side
so I can grab you and hold you
in my arms?
There is no better way to jumpstart
my day,
then with God on my mind and you
in my arms.
