When Destiny Calls
A wondrous Destiny
called me once in youth
in the brightest gleam of dreams
her words like a soothing sedative
and kept me close to her heartbeat
her eyes constantly penetrating
as if in search of my best thoughts
Who shall get in my way when she calls again
to hold my claim
for me to be stronger and wiser?
a mere world questioning me?
with destiny, shall I lose?
All I dream of are heartbeats
a thousand and two
two thousand
three thousand
I could lean forever,
waiting as they come up to my ear till
I see a smile
O destiny
that's a life I've saved
and another
and another...
She heard me lament
and came knocking,
furiously knocking
and shaking this simple world
it's corrupt reality
now shattering fast to
my bold and brazen dream
When destiny calls again
I shall remember...
my dream brightened like an OR
where another life hangs by my thread
To see this and only this
even where their million odds will try
you watch me
I'll be the strongest
I'll be the wisest
I'll win like a landslide
a mere world questioning me?
With destiny, how can I lose?
