When a Woman Is Just a Woman

When a woman is just a woman She's nobody's but her own She embraces truth in life with compassion in her soul When a woman is just a woman There's ambition on her mind There is wisdom in her words and foundations to be kind When a woman is just a woman there's a beauty in her eyes and that beauty reflects journeys travelled through her inner light When a woman is just a woman There' s a sweetness in her smile There's the instinct of a mother with protection for each child When a woman is just a woman She is humble, She is plain She' s a friend, She's a great listener Seeks adventure and not vain When a woman is just a woman She thinks firstly with her heart She gives strength yet begs protection She needs firm securing arms When a woman is just a woman There are secrets still concealed There are alluring mysteries Chapters signed yet unrevealed When a woman is just a woman There is attitude, there is class She is sensual, She is daring She ' s a treasure born to last When a woman is just a woman She shakes stardust in the blues She 's a Lucille Ball and Nelson She ' s the gift of rainbow hues. P.S - ( Nelson mentioned above -for Nelson Mandela ) Pls find in pictures above women who inspired me ,and their quotes Dedicated to all Women on poetrysoup : ) Inspired by Justin's contest : ' When a woman is just a woman ' but not for the contest

Love it. When I was a ten year old I thought J. McDonald was the most beautiful, sweetest creature on earth and wanted to be Nelson when I grew up. Times have changed and I see no more J. McDonalds or Nelson Eddys. You've described what I want to see. Love, daver

Hi Charmaine: You really personified the Woman and speaking as a man with 3 daughters and a wife, I can attest to that.

you were incredibly inspired, Charma. I love the showcasing of all these beautiful examples and pictures of womanhood. You really should enter it! But he IS a strict judge. I have one to post this week on this theme and I am almost certain it won't place. I don't believe i ever won one of his contests!

Hello Charma . . . The is a "7" + FAV absolutely for me. And I certainly note the pictures and quotes too. Very well-done in every respect. Being married to the same woman for going on 25 years now -- with what you've articulated in wonderful write here -- make me appreciate all the more the things that my wife does and what she brings into my life. I will cherish your poem here for sure. Best Wishes Always, Gary

For me a woman is always more than a woman for she is the embodiment of what the human spirit is capable of being. This is a precious piece and demonstrates your beautiful spirit.

Beautiful words, Charmaine! You were inspired by some great women. I, too, am inspired by some of these women. Anne Frank was just a girl, but her soul far surpassed her years. Despite everything, I also believe people are good at heart. Thanks for sharing your heart and soul ands belated congrats...hugs, Rhonda

I couldn't have said it better--- I wanted to describe a woman for this contest, but I see now, only a woman could do so with such accuracy.
