Gone are days of eyeball contact
When we used to meet in person
A warm embrace and a handshake
Laughter and light conversation
Now our sanity is at stake

Inundated with messages
Good mornings and words of wisdom
Methinks people are now lazy
Having nothing better to do
I confess it drives me crazy

Blinking substitutes not thinking
Whilst expressing our heart’s emote
Or while playing a game of chess
Originality’s passe
So I guess we’ll make do with less

You are absolutely right.dear friend. This is how I feel too. People forward messages to our mobiles to the point of cramming them and many are sadly lost in them, doing nothing else . I fear we are all equally responsible for making a generation so sedantary. You have addressed a crucial issue bothering seniors like us.

Whatsapp forwards overwhelm my disk storage. I have lost interest in it. I agree with your depiction of it on social life.

Very rarely do we see an original message, composed consciously. I’ve put all groups on silent mode. It is an eerie loneliness perhaps that causes people to forward messages, connected to the screen rather than the person himself. A vertical decline in human consciousness
