What's Mine
A heart crafted of porcelain-
now cracked all the way through.
What once was smooth and flawless-
is no longer bright and new.
Edges made to cut with-
curves and crevices unsmoothed.
This is what I have become-
and it's all because of you.
Constellations in my eyes-
but they'll turn into tearfall.
They'll trace my cheeks down to my neck-
then freeze and turn to snowfall.
That fire in my chest -
which once did burn so endless...
it struggles to make light now-
all because you are repentless.
See, you were never sorry-
you hurt me... left me for dead.
I could beg you more to listen-
but now I'll hold my breath instead.
For I've bellowed my lungs out-
trying to get you to care.
But now I know, despite my pleads-
that you'll never be there.
Present when you need me-
but when I need you, you are gone.
For once your needs are met-
you're oh so quick to break our bond
You took a thing of beauty-
and you stole it for your own.
You used it till you broke it -
and deemed it "better off alone".
You've got all you could get from me-
then cast away remains.
You claim you are so grateful-
So why oh, why throw me away away?
You snatch me up, but one more time-
when you see my fire relight.
But now this flame's for ME-
you can no longer take what's mine.
