What's It All About

I often sit at red lights feeling like a voyeur peering into car windows playing a guessing game who are you where are you going another Alfie in the world What's it all about anyhow and I wonder Sometimes a driver catches my eye but quickly looks away pretending our eyes didn't meet there's a law against getting personal with those tethered to a smart phone horns blow with impatience ending my reverie but I wonder What do the Alfies seek as they rush from place to place worried faces without names moving pieces on a board game driving SUVs to and fro which way should I go and I wonder

Funny you should mention the cars and its occupants, everybody a different destination in mind. I always look at them as ants millions and millions of ants world wide and it is said theyare clever and can group. I have written two poems ablut ants the second one is about the revenge of the ants! Hugs and blessings Jennifer

I will have to find your ant poem. Our minds are funny creatures themselves to ponder such things. Thanks Jennifer.

Our roads are relatively quiet so I cannot say I have the opportunity to people watch when I'm driving - but IF I saw someone tethered to their phoned I'd be tempted to shop them as it's illegal over here and many more accidents now seem to be linked to folks being distracted whilst they are I've got what's it all about Alfie buzzing in my brain Lin lol:-) hugs Jan xx

and the words of that song are the fulcrum point of my write. I've been singing it too, Jan. Let's listen to something else.

We wonder, what are you staring at? Do we have food on our chin? Did I do something wrong?, or oh crap she saw me itching my nose(wink)....lol

I would wonder those things if someone stared at me, but when I'm doing the staring and wondering, it's deeper thoughts. I envision people as ants, coming and going in busy work in a complicated world.
